Ashwagandha Root Powder
Ashwagandha root, dried and finely milled — one of the most established herbs in the Ayurvedic materia medica, classified there as a rasayana, or rejuvenating tonic, and taken traditionally at night with warm milk. The smell is unmistakable and takes some getting used to: strongly earthy and horse-like, which is exactly what the Sanskrit name describes. The taste follows the smell, which is why it is nearly always taken with milk, honey or ghee rather than water.
