Basil Seeds (Sabja / Tukmaria)
Basil seeds — sabja or tukmaria — are small black seeds that swell within minutes of touching water, each one wrapping itself in a translucent grey jelly with the dark centre still visible. They soak far faster than chia and hold a firmer, more distinct texture. That quick-swelling jelly is why sabja has been a fixture of Indian summer drinks for generations: falooda, rose sherbet, nimbu paani and lassi all use it for its cooling body and the pleasing pop it gives each sip.

Origin
Our basil seeds are sourced from selected growers, then cleaned, sieved and sorted under controlled conditions to remove chaff and ensure quick, even swelling.
Composition
| Ingredients | 100% Raw Basil Seeds (Ocimum basilicum). No additives, preservatives, colours, flavours or coatings. |

| Taste Profile | Almost neutral with a faint herbal note. Like chia, the appeal is textural — a crisp bite when dry, and a soft, gelatinous coating with a gentle pop once soaked. |
