Tomato Puree
Our Tomato Puree is made from ripe tomatoes, cooked down and passed into a smooth, deep-red concentrate with nothing else added. Because the fruit is reduced rather than diluted, a small quantity carries the depth that fresh tomatoes only give after long simmering. It is the shortcut that does not taste like one: stir it into a gravy, a dal or a pasta sauce and you get body, colour and a rounded sweet-tart base in minutes rather than half an hour.
