Origin
Bitter gourd is washed, sliced, dried and milled; hibiscus petals are cleaned, naturally dried and finely milled. Both under controlled conditions.

How to Use
- Taken together in water, where hibiscus offsets the bitterness of karela
- Karela stirred into buttermilk or chaas
- Hibiscus whisked into hot or cold water as a tangy infusion
- Hibiscus blended into smoothies, coolers and lemonade
- Hibiscus used in hair masks with curd or oil
- Either added to vegetable juices with amla or cucumber
Directions of Use
- Karela: 1/2 teaspoon (about 3 g) in water once daily, traditionally in the morning.
- Hibiscus: 1/2 to 1 teaspoon in hot or cold water, sweetened to taste.
- To take them together, mix 1/2 teaspoon karela with 1/2 teaspoon hibiscus in water — the tartness masks the bitterness well.
- Hibiscus is deep red and stains fabric and light surfaces.
- Store both in airtight containers in a cool, dry place away from sunlight.
- Karela is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- If you take medication affecting blood sugar or blood pressure, or are due for surgery, consult a qualified healthcare practitioner before regular use of either.
