Amla, the Indian gooseberry, dried and milled to a pale powder. It is one of the richest natural sources of vitamin C, and it is the first of the three fruits in triphala — a fixture of Ayurvedic practice for as long as there has been Ayurvedic practice. Fresh amla is famously sour to the point of being difficult. The powder keeps that sourness alongside a strong astringency, which is why it is usually taken in water or honey, and why it is equally at home in a hair pack as in a drink.
Our amla fruit is selected from trusted growers, then cleaned, dried at controlled temperature and finely milled so the powder retains its natural vitamin C content and characteristic sourness.
